📋 PART 10

“Code blue! She’s crashing!”
The room exploded into controlled chaos. Doctors shouted orders, paddles were charged, someone pushed medicine into my IV. I felt like I was floating above my own body — watching the love of my life pacing outside the glass, hands in his hair, praying out loud for the first time in his life.
“Clear!”
My body jolted on the table. Once. Twice.
The monitor screamed… then a tiny, strong heartbeat filled the room.
“She’s back! Baby’s stable for now — but we have to deliver early. Prepare for emergency C-section!”
Outside, Hunter collapsed against the wall, sobbing with relief. Walter tried to comfort him but Hunter pushed him away. “You knew everything. All these years. How could you?”
Before Walter could answer, an older man in a simple black coat walked up — silver hair, kind but tired eyes. He looked nothing like Victor or Walter.
“I’m Thomas Vale,” he said quietly. “Jillian’s biological father. I’ve been in hiding for twenty years because Brenda and Victor tried to kill me when I found out about their money laundering scheme through the family charity.”
Hunter stared at him, stunned. “You’re… her real dad?”
Thomas nodded. “And I have everything — original documents, recordings from twenty years ago, even proof that Brenda murdered my wife to keep her secret. I came tonight because I couldn’t let my daughter and grandchild die for this dirty fortune.”
He handed Hunter a USB drive. “This ends it all. But you have to choose right now — expose them publicly while the media is still outside, or take the quiet deal and walk away rich but broken.”
Hunter looked through the glass at me — unconscious, pale, but still fighting. He turned back to Thomas.
“I want them destroyed. I want my wife and child safe. No more deals.”
Thomas smiled sadly. “Then press send on this. But be warned — the second you do, Victor’s men will come for all of us. And Brenda still has one final bullet with your name on it.”
Hunter took the USB, finger hovering over his phone.
At that exact moment, the OR door flew open. A doctor stepped out, mask down, face grave.
“The baby is out. She’s tiny but alive… but your wife is bleeding heavily. We’re doing everything we can.”
Hunter dropped to his knees again, phone in one hand, the future of our family in the other.
Then his phone lit up with a new message from an unknown number — a live video feed.
Brenda was sitting in a luxury car, smiling at the camera, holding up a small bottle of clear liquid.
“Tick tock, my sweet boy. This is poison meant for your precious wife’s IV drip. My man inside the hospital is waiting for your decision. Choose wisely.”
Hunter looked at the USB, then at me through the glass, then at the tiny incubator being wheeled past him with our daughter inside.

His finger moved toward the “Send” button.
